Plumber Who Won £14million Lottery Jackpot Goes Back To Fixing Toilets Days Later

A plumber who won the £14million Lottery jackpot is back at work fixing toilets just two days later.

John Doherty, 52, said he doesn't want to let down his loyal customers and would be bored sat at home. The dad-of-two scooped £14,671,343 with wife Alison, 50, and the beaming couple were unveiled on Tuesday as the latest Lotto jackpot winners.

But shortly after 9am today, John was back in his black overalls and jumping into his black Mercedes van to service a boiler he'd fitted.

John, of Elderslie, Renfrewshire, said: "I really enjoy my work - I've been doing it a long time.

"I want to stay grounded. "I've got a lot of loyal customers and I don't want to let them down. "I'm doing stuff that was arranged before all this happened."

"My customers are older people and they've treated me just the same after the win which is what I want. "I'm just back off two holidays so I definitely don't think I should be sitting on a beach.

"I will treat myself - but once it's all settled down a bit

"I'll probably slow down a wee bit."

Meet the identical triplets from Estonia set to make history at the Olympics (photos)

Leila, Liina and Lily Luik, are fulfilling their “Trio to Rio” dream as they are set to become the first set of triplets to compete in the same event at the Olympics Games.

The sisters only took up running seriously at the age of 24 and will make history this summer when they represent Estonia at the Olympic games in Rio, Brazil.

“We have been active since childhood. We love dancing. We love to be active, and this pushed us to professional sports,” Lily Luik told Reuters.
“We saw … after one year we had good results in Estonia, and we thought we could achieve something good also outside of Estonia,” she added, “and to do some big competitions like European Championships and the Olympic Games.”

When the Luiks competed in the 2014 European Championships in Zurich, they became the first triplets to do so in that competition.

To actually take home a medal
“would be great,” the sisters told Reuters. “It’s like our dream, and we know that we have to live in reality. It is very hard to compete against the Kenyan runners. We are not at the same kind of level as they are now, but in two or three years we can do that.”

Photo: Policeman stoned to death for killing okadaman in Nsuka

A Police corporal, Robert Ugwanyi, pictured, was last week stoned to death for killing a commercial motorcyclist identified as Festus Onah in Nsukka community in Enugu state.

Ugwuanyi and some of his colleagues had gone to Nsukka Local Government Council to compel some street traders to relocate to the newly completed Building Materials Market in the area when an argument ensued between the officers and the traders who refused relocation.

Ugwuanyi then fired a shot which hit Onah who was just walking out of a restaurant where he had gone to eat. The traders became very angry and started to stone Ugwuanyi. When he was rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed him dead.

Late Onah who was married and had six children, hailed from Ibagwa-Aka community in Igboeze South Local Government Area, and had just relocated from the North-East due to Boko Haram attacks.
